Paton Professional is located in Northern California, in the small university town of Chico. Scott Paton, the founder of Paton Press, was with Quality Digest magazine for 21 years, as editor-in-chief and subsequently publisher. In the midst of that career, he decided to take the plunge and start his own business. He got the opportunity to ghost-write and publish his first book, and Paton Press—his new company—was born.
Being immersed in the quality world brought about many opportunities for Scott to publish more books and provide helpful learning resources to quality practitioners. Scott and his wife, Heidi, worked together to grow Paton Press from its roots as a true home-business start-up to the learning company it is today, known as Paton Professional. (Their family has grown as well—with three little Patons.)
